Shift Engineer

Opportunity summary: 

Here at Westrock Hamilton, we have had a rare opportunity open within our engineering department. We are looking for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join our existing well-established team.
JOB PURPOSE:
Working shifts following rostered shift pattern, of Dayshift, Backshift and Nightshift.
Week 1: Dayshift Mon-7am-2pm Tue, Wed, Thu 6am-2pm, Fri 6am-330pm.
Week 2: Backshift Mon-Thurs 12pm-10pm or 2pm-12am.
Week 3: Nightshift Mon-Thurs 10pm-6am.
Holidays: 34 days this includes Christmas shutdown.
Salary: £40,000.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Maintenance and repair of labelling and packaging machines and site services.
Contractor control.
Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policies.
Comply with all company Safe Working Practices.
Assist with improvement projects.
Respond to machine breakdowns.
Health and Safety;
Adhere to Company Safety, Hygiene, Environmental & Quality policies and procedures.
Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained and improved in line with the factory standard.
Responsible for the safety of employees, site and machines at all times.
QUALIFICATONS: Educational and professional:
Time served multi-skilled engineer, either mechanical or electrical with cross over experience.
Appropriate engineering i.e., HNC/HND or Equivalent.
Preferred 17th or 18th Edition BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
Be able to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
The ability to work in both a challenging and interesting environment.
Involvement in preventative and predictive maintenance activity.
To work strictly within current Health and Safety guidelines.
An understanding of PLC, invertor drives and controlled production equipment.
The ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical and pneumatic schematics.
A working knowledge of computerised maintenance databases.
Good knowledge and understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
